Principal Designer Services
What is a Principal Designer?
In the UK, building sites follow strict rules to keep everyone safe. A key person on these projects is the Principal Designer.
This person makes sure health and safety is planned for from the very beginning, before any building even starts. This helps prevent accidents during construction and keeps the building safe to use later on.
They are responsible for planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating health and safety in the pre-construction phase of a project.
The Principal Designer should always possess the technical knowledge of the industry, relevant to your project and the skills knowledge and experience required to understand, manage and coordinate the pre-construction phase.
In relation with the client and principal contractor, we have an important role in influencing how the risks of health and safety should be managed and incorporated into the wider management of the project.
We act as the Principal Designer to identify and obtain pre-construction information as per the CDM 2015 statutory duties. We cover all the required documentation, attend site visits and meetings to ensure compliance with the legal issues of CDM 2015.
